Reminds me of the times my dad would call me at university at 3:30 AM when he had a computer problem and had to get a report out to a client. More than 2/3 asleep I'd have to try and solve whatever without even being able to see the screen....ok, do you see a menu that says...ok, click that...what happennnzzzzz

I've said many times that doing tech support over the phone is a just like being a stage psychic, it involves cold reading and your success depends 90% on your ability to pretend you know a lot more about the subject at hand than you actually do. That goes double for Blackberry support.

Did a year or two doing remote support for Independent financial advisers. Quite often, you'd see me in the office, laid back in a chair, eyes closed, hands behind my head, talking my way through the support call imagining their desktop in my head. I had of course got to the point of doing it so much, I didn't need a similar desktop to reference. It did cause some funny looks, as I looked asleep.
